Fianna Dragonfly kicked a stone out of the dirt and watched it roll away as she contemplated the plague they had encountered. She looked around for anybody who had followed her back from the infected village, hoping to talk about how to prevent further spread of such a deadly infection.

The day was warm, sweet smells of new grass and pollen filled the air as new life grew into the lands. Ainvar, atop his horse, approached Fianna and brought the horse to a stop infront of her. 'I salute you, a free person, Fianna!', a warm smile slid from his lips.

"I salute you as a free person! It is good to finally see you Sheriff! Where have you been hiding, you seem to have missed much of the excitement around these parts." Fianna smiled back and strode up to the horse patting the beast and welcoming it as well. "There has been a plague, Ainvar. A strange thing that turns the suffering into mad, slobbering beasts that do not know friend from foe."

Ainvar's face became more serious, 'Apologies, Chief Druid. With matters calm in the lands I took the time for solitary hunting. I heard news of this sickness the closer I got to the Locks'. He dismounted the animal, and began straightening his tunic, crimson red with Gallic trim in gold. 'Have we lost many? What of the cause?'.

"An entire small settlement was wiped out when the scoutimg party arrived; this aslo reminds me of another matter. There has been a resurgence of bandit activity as well, we were attacked and our supplies stolen along the route. On the matter of the plague, those who were not alread dead from the sickness had to be put down because they were trying to attack and kill our party. We could not risk contaminating ourselves by restraining them, we would have spread it further. As for the cause, there was an old wise man whom we met on the road. He knew more of it than I, but I have been unable to find him since we diagnosed the disease." Fianna clasped her hands behind her back and walked away a few paces, contemplating. "The incident was isolated, but it was so virulent that we should have been overrun with the sick in days. I believe we are not facing a natural sickness."

Ainvar stroked his beard in contemplation, 'do you think it may be sorcery?'.

"I think that this is exactly what we are looking at. I do not know who we have angered, or what agents of chaos are at work, but this illness is no work of the natural world. I will be heading to the Grove soon to seek guidance in contemplation. After that I ride out to find more physical evidence of this plague. What will you do, my friend?"

Ainvar nods, ' Aye, I will ready the men to be on a moment's notice. I should wish to accompany you in this search of physical evidence., work what magics you will, Druid'. He clapped Fianna on her back and began to take a couple steps to face the Grove as a late Spring thunderstorm slowly rolled it's way toward the forest. 'May Taranu guide us to the answers we seek'.

"We will need all the guidance we can get, I fear this trial may be more frightening than the horde of beast-men that were upon us before." Fianna turned her face to the heaves as she spoke, watching the sky's weather dance.
