After discoveries and revelations of the various expeditions were revealed to the rest of the other parties, the elf excused himself from the celebratory hoorays and merry drinking. He slumped in his chair and uttered not a word to anyone, mulling over the events that took place, and the very real and possible threat of Sylvans overtaking the region. It was a bitter pill to swallow, torn between two worlds but feeling helpless on either. He couldn't help but look glum.

"Something troubling you, singer?" Said a voice from the rafters above, "You look like you need a large pint, a woman, or both..." The bird-man mused. He let himself fall sideways off the beam, and land on the table next to the elf. "You'd really think they'd ban me from here, that's the fourth time and they haven't said a word..." he wondered, glancing towards the barkeep.

He slightly smiled, looking down into his glass and sloshing the contents around aimlessly. "You would think with your monkeying around." He half-joked. Sitting up slightly he perched his hat on top of the chair, running his fingers through his ruddy short hair. Sighing, he asked "I wish I knew why I am out of sorts I guess? It is hard for me to accept my actions today, as in a sense I regret what had happened and how I could've handled it better." The finality was apparent in his voice. He gulped the content down and inhaled sharply against the bite of the liquor.

"I see..." Scarecrow expressed, sitting down opposite the elf, "You know, though I call the Locks my home, I'm still a foreigner in these lands. I was taken by force away from what I thought was to be just a passing voyage. Now, by luck alone, I managed to escape with my companion and wind up adrift in a harbor."
The tengu eyed the ranger with an incisive look.
"There are things you will do, and things that will happen that you wish hadn't. You can turn back time, and it's best not to waste away in regret." Scarecrow tutored, "It all comes down to balance, and how you choose to atone for actions that are leaving you staring at the bottom of glass of what I can only assume is an impressive brew."
"Can I get you another? My treat." the tengu said with a smirk.

Adoven pondered the tengu's words, mulling them over in his mind. Satisfied, he stood and looked at the tengu, and smiled. "Thank you my friend. I value your advice and will venture forth in this way." He went over toward the bar, payed for a big bottle of a fine liquor, and set it in front of Scarecrow. Pouring out the contents in two glasses, he sat and raised his glass. "To finding the silver lining." Came a toast from him.

Scarecrow hoisted a glass in return, "May misfortune follow you the rest of your life, and never catch up!" And with that he drank.
